Completely blocked
So it came as a bit of a surprise when we found the cut completely blocked by work boats at Wood End Swing Bridge as we headed towards Bugsworth.
No advance signage, just a hand-written note on a bike barrier nearby. A passing walker (one of 32,464,107 we saw that day, give or take half a billion) told us it's closed till 12th December, so a couple of hundred yards of reversing found us a workable winding place (we're only 44ft) and Bollington was substituted.
Nice meal in the Vale, though.
