Still more Ripon woes

ONCE again Oxclose Lock on the Ripon Canal is causing problems.

This is the lock that was closed for months trapping the moorers in Ripon Marina as contractors struggled to fill in a hole then going back for more months to fill in the other one they had left.

Seriously leaking

At how many hundreds of thousands of pounds we are not told, but they obviously made another pig's ear of the job as it is seriously leaking, Keith Gudgin reports.

So much in fact that Canal & River Trust admit it will take much longer to fill and to make sure that both the bottom sluices are fully closed and the top sluices fully open—that is rather obvious!
