TWO NAVIGATIONS WERE REOPENED yesterday, Thursday.
After work was completed, Keith Gudgin reports.
Macclesfield Canal
The Bosley Flight (pictured) on the Macclesfield Canal was closed on the 11th August with repairs required on Lock 3 of the Bosley Flight.
This was due to a loose cill baffle and a damaged head gate, it closing the flight from locks 1 to 12.
The work has now been completed and the navigation reopened.
Caldon Canal
The Caldon Canal was closed on the 1st August through lack of water.
As water is now available the pounds from Hazelhurst Top Lock to Froghall Basin Lock has now reopened.
Though this was reopened yesterday, Thursday, there is still a stoppage on the Caldon Canal at Froghall Basin Lock while repair to the lock are undertaken.
This closure will remain in place until the 23rd October.
