IN ADDITION to the normal 'a method of repair established', a new reason for delay has been conjured-up.
Canal & river Trust now tell it is 'preparing safe systems of work' as a new reason for delay, in this case for the damaged cill on the Huddersfield Narrow Canal at Lock 24W at Dobcross, Keith Gudgin reports.
First attempt failed
The first attempt to repair the broken cill failed in January with the trust now telling the work also includes repair to the heel post pot as well as the re-fixing of the cill.
This, it claims, requires careful planning to make sure the trust is working within Health & Safety legislation, which perhaps is yet another new reason for further delay!
