IT WAS Alan Deane who pointed out how the unsecured facility on the Ashby had been allowed to deteriorate and was closed.
His photograph, taken two years ago, shows the state of the rubbish facility at Sutton Cheney that was allowed to get into such a state.
Not secured
A skip replaced the bins, but alas, this was not secured so was used by anyone wanting to get rid of rubbish that again caused a mess, with the trust then seemingly using this as a reason for closing it altogether.
Until a replacement location is found this means the only rubbish facility will be Snarestone at the end of the canal.
The other facilities are on either the Coventry or Oxford canals at Atherstone or Hawkesbury Junction respectively.
