THE pantomime that is the Winkwell Swing Bridge is still running!
The swing bridge at Hemel Hempstead, repaired last week, has broken yet again and so is out of use, Keith Gudgin reports.

He adding—"It's closed...no it's not, it's open....no it's not, it's closed...it's just a bloody pantomime!"
It would seem that Canal & River Trust have run out of reasons for its many failures, simply stating 'repair'. But obviously who ever repaired it a week ago did not make to good a job, so perhaps someone somewhere will employ someone who can repair it—permanently.
This is the swing bridge that reportedly failed nine times in 2016 vying with Coxhead on the Leeds & Liverpool that has 20 'mentions' in our index!
