Lock repaired the same day

THE Canal & River Trust is making an effort with stoppages by repairing one the same day.

Braunston Lock 2 on the Grand Union Canal was reported as failed yesterday, Thursday, but by later on the same day was repaired, Keith Gudgin reports.

Inoperable

The trust told that accidental damage caused the lock gate to be inoperable, but the team was quickly on site with the problem solved and the waterways then reopened.

If this is the sort of action we can now expect, it will be of benefit for boaters held up by stoppages.
