Bulbourne Yard now cleared for development

WORK has at last begun on the Bulbourne Yard development on the summit of the Grand Union Canal.

Trees and undergrowth, including the ivy that had become established on the buildings, have been cleared, as can ben seen on our Man on the Summit's photograph.

Last October

It was last October when the first attempt was made with the clear-out of the machinery and materials at Bulbourne Workshops, but since then all had stopped.

It was still further back, in June 2016, that Canal & River Trust announced that the workshops on the summit of the Grand Union Canal were going to be turned into homes, but the property had been allowed to deteriorate ever since as has been reported in narrowboatworld.

Last October the doors of the workshops were seen open for the first time in years, with workers moving machines and material out of the premises.
