Lemonroyd Lock out of action

THE Lemonroyd Lock on the Aire & Calder Navigation is out of action.

There was a structure failure yesterday, Sunday, with boaters unable to get the lock to operate, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Fault with power

It seems there is a fault with the power with both paddles and gates out of action.

Engineers are expected at the scene today, at what is one of the largest locks on the waterway as can be seen by our narrowboat in one corner!

UPDATE

The lock is only operating on one paddle and will take a longtime to fill, but it is now open to navigation.
