Why does it want doing again so soon?

Why is it that nowadays we hear so much about stoppages overrunning, asks Helen Cripps.

Just recently there was the Aston Lock, and there have been a lot of others in the past that have not opened in the time stated on stoppage notices.

But not only that, stoppages are taking much longer and you can take the report of the one at Ervin's Lock [Leicester Section] that we are told will take from 1st to the 15th of April, which is twice as long as it was last time, and why should it want doing again so soon?
