QUICKLY following on from Victor's remarks this morning (Sunday) concerning the many stoppages on the Kennet & Avon and Huddersfield canals, it has just been announced that Loco Bridge on the Huddersfield Broad has failed.
This bridge is situated near where the Huddersfield Narrow and Broad canals meet, and failed yesterday (Saturday) and is now awaiting repair, Keith Gudgin tells us.
Wrong bridge
Canal & River Trust have this marked as Bridge 1 on the Broad Canal, though as many boaters will be aware, Bridge 1 is Coopers Bridge at the other end of the waterway where it joins the Calder & Hebble Navigation!
