THE Huddersfield Narrow Canal was closed yesterday, Tuesday, at Wharf Cottage Lock (13W) at Micklehurst.
There is a problem with the tailgate that requires the pound to be drained so that it can be inspected, that Canal & River Trust hope to do today, Keith Gudgin tells us.

It is understood that any repair will 'take a couple of days', but it is hoped the waterway will re-open later this week.
