AS PART of the Lincolnshire Heritage Open Day event, the Grantham Canal Society are running boats trips on a restored section of the waterway.

The short trips on Three Shires will take place between 10.30am and 4.00pm next Tuesday 9th September at a cost of £3 for adults and £2 for children.

These depart from Lock 18 near The Rutland Arms (Dirty Duck) Pub, Duck Lane, Woolsthorpe by Belvoir, NG32 1NY.

Discovery Day

During October in addition to the boat trips there will be entertainment on the Society's  Discovery Day, on Sunday the 9th.

The entertainment will include music, dancing, barbecue and many side stalls with local produce on offer. A highlight of the day will be the 'Dirty Duck Race' which is somewhat unique on the UK canal system.

Woolsthorpe Middle Lock

Refreshments are available in the Carpenter's shop, just past the pub. Go and see the amazing progress our volunteers have made at Lock 15, Woolsthorpe Middle Lock, which is being totally rebuilt.
