THE Leicester Section of the Grand Union Canal is being closed numerous times over the next few months, though no normal stoppage notices have been sent out by Canal & River Trust.
The navigation at Aylestone Mill in Leicester will be closed from 4pm onwards for six dates, Rodney Hardwick tells us.
Closed tomorrow
There has been no stoppage notices either of the dates or the reason for the numerous closures, the first being tomorrow, Friday.
The other dates that the navigation will be closed are 8th, 22nd, 29th July and 5th, 12th of August, with the navigation closed at 4pm until 11pm on every day.
