THE Sheffield & Tinsley Canal that is closed owing to work on Lock No. 2 will not be open today (Thursday) as promised.
Work has been delayed for a further week as there has been difficulty in sealing the gates, Keith Gudgin tells us.
Further work
It will take the week to overcome this, but even then the canal will only be open for two days on Wednesday 27th to allow boats to pass, then the flight will be closed again for further work.
This work will mean the lock will be out of action for a further three weeks.
