This week's first closure

THE first closure this week was the Rochdale Canal on Monday, that is still closed at Kay Lane Lock (64) at Chadderton.

This time it is paddle failure on the bottom gate, Keith Gudgin tells us, with the waterways closed on Monday afternoon.

The Trust is 'mobilising its work teams' to get to the site and complete repairs. Mooring is stated to be at Grimshaw Bridge below the lock, but none given above.
