THE EREWASH CANAL has been closed four times this month though low water.
And three time the month before Keith Gudgin reports.
The latest being on Saturday with low water in the pound between Pastures lock 64 and Stanton Lock 65.
The trust state that boaters should not attempt to navigate between these two locks until further notice, for water levels are too low for safe passage.Â
New Junction Canal
A further closure over the weekend was on the New Junction Canal, with the 'close' button broken on the Low Lane Swing Bridge.
But the trust tells that contractors have been been appointed and it is hoped that the problem will be rectified as soon as possible.
