Severn lock damaged by storm

The broad Diglis Lock on the Severn is still out of action having been damaged by the recent storms and is out of action.

It will remain closed to navigation whilst contractors repair the damage to the buildings and electrical systems that was caused by the storm, Keith Gudgin reports.

Worcester & Birmingham

Diglis Lock is on the river just below the junction where it is joined by the Worcester & Birmingham Canal.

Work is underway at the lock, but there is no intimation of any completion date when the lock will be reopened.

The smaller of the two locks is not in working order.
