RESIDENTS living in Banbury have been complaining about the unsightly Oxford Canal in Banbury.

BanburySunkComplaints have been made about the state of the boats along the moorings as being decrepit with junk loaded on their roofs and gas bottles and generators littering the towpath and sunken boats.

Grievances

The photograph by David Potter of the sunken boat gives some idea of their grievances, with yet another sunk and discarded on the opposite bank.

The complaints are that during the winter months the boats come for the convenience of the shops but don't move on just staying there, with no attempt by the canal authorities to do anything about them, though it was stated that they do not mind a well kept boat, for after all it is a canal for boats, but it is the others that are causing concern.
