Quick fix for the Caldon lift bridge

THOUGH the Norton Green Lift Bridge (21) on the Caldon failed on Monday, it was soon fixed.

It failed due to a mechanical fault with contractors needing to source replacement parts to carry out the repairs, Keith Gudgin reports.

Quickly source parts

This time the contractors were able to quickly source the parts and install them, with the lift bridge in full operation the following day, Tuesday.

It seem to depend on how quickly parts can be obtained, but what a difference to the parts needed for the services on the Weaver that took 24 weeks to repair.
