THE car that ended its journey in the Wigan Flight on Monday 24th has still not been removed.

The vehicle is in the flight between locks 69 and 70, but the police still have not given permission for it to be removed, with therefore no navigation possible, Keith Gudgin reports.

Canal & River Trust tell that its teams are awaiting an update from the police before the vehicle can be removed from the waterway.

LATEST: The car was removed on the 27th of May.

Oxford Canal closure

Contractors are expected to attend as soon as possible.
