Vandalism closes Rochdale Nine

THE Rochdale Canal is closed at Lock 92 on the Rochdale Nine flight in Manchester.

Canal & River Trust state that this is due to vandalism of the offside tail gate of the lock and that 'local team and contractors have been informed and are on their way to site'.

Flight padlocked

In view of this the flight has been padlocked to prevent navigation.

It is not known if the flight will be reopened for the weekend as we are told an update will be provided on Monday morning,
