Ashby stop planks do allow winding

THE stop planks at the breach on the Ashby Canal do allow winding.

Canal & River Trust website states that the stop-planks are in at bridge 61, that puts the winding hole on the closed side of the planks, as we reported.

Nigel Studd tells us the winding hole is before the stop planks that have been inserted to stop the draining of water into the breach.

Before Brige 61

The planks are before Bridge 61a (Swing Bridge) which belongs to the Ashby Canal Association, and Nigel hopes that will allays fears of boaters at the top end of the Ashby.
