Unusual craft on the Severn

IT WAS quite a shock for boaters cruising the Severn last week.

For they were met with a number of paddleboarders weaving their way down the river, Alan Tilbury reports.

Challenge

The paddleboaders were part of the Paddleboard Challenge on the Severn to raise money for a centre that supports Duncan Liddel's son who is an autistic.

Together with other supporters he travelled 100 miles down the river last week on a paddleboard from Welshpool to Worcester over a four days period.

Multi-sensory centre

The money is for Worcester Snoezelen, a multi-sensory centre in the city that supports children and adults with learning disabilities.

The centre had to shut down during the coronavirus lockdown, and is now fundraising to ensure its survival.
