More Trent problems

 FURTHER to the possibility of grounding around Stoke Bardolph Lock on the Trent, it is now impassible.

Though the recent rain has perhaps eased the grounding situation the river is now closed to navigation at the lock due to  a broken paddle, Keith Gudgin reports.

Damage

We are given the reason that this has been caused by damage, though why one unusable paddle should close a lock is not stated, unless of course the remaining paddle was already out of action.

There is no intimation when a repair will take place only that the navigation is closed.
