BWML marinas providing essential services

THE marinas operated by British Waterways Marinas Ltd (BWML) are providing the essential services for their resident liveaboards during the pandemic.

Many of its marinas now have many permanent resident boaters, and it is providing such as pump-outs, diesel, etc for their convenience.

Chandlery open

Such as our own, Sawley Marina that has many liveaboards with it's chandlery open Wednesday to Sunday 9am to 5pm with pump-out available as normal, Rod Grant tells us.

At Overwater Marina we are told the marina office will no longer be physically open for customers to visit, but marina team members will be contactable and will be there to support any urgent or emergency needs or if residents have requirements for supplies of electricity, diesel, gas or coal.

Follow similar pattern

Other marinas in the group follow a similar pattern to serve their liveaboards.

Of the coronavirus situation Steve de Polo, CEO explains:

"Of course it is essential that we keep health and safety at the right levels for all residential customers, including performing all the daily checks we need to make, as well as providing the continuation of essential marina maintenance.

"Your health and safety in our marinas remains of paramount importance. Therefore please be assured that we are maintaining staff levels on each of our marinas in order to continue to meet those health and safety standards, as well as to continue to provide essential services vital to you as residential customers."

Workshops however are now closed across all BWML marinas.
