THE boaters at White Mills Marina on the Nene have raised the cash for a public defibrillator.

Now available

They managed this is nine months, and the new life saving device has not only been installed but it is now available to everyone visiting the river and Nene Valley at Earls Barton from boaters, walkers, cyclists and kayakers through to runners and footballers using the playing fields opposite the marina.

Sited at the entrance of White Mills Marina at Earls Barton, the new defibrillator is accessible 24/7.

Commenting on the new defib, Operations Manager for White Mills Marina, Gary Butcher (pictured) explained:

“We have been absolutely overwhelmed by people’s generosity.  To achieve our fund-raising target in just nine months, is terrific news.  Of course the defib is not just for the benefit of our boaters but for the wider community too which is really important to us.  We are really thrilled, so thank you to everyone.”

Defib training sessions are to be arranged over the next few weeks, and anyone interested in joining in should contact Gary Butcher at White Mills Marina on 01604 812057.
