Work at Vale Royal

WORK is now well underway on the the smaller of the two locks at Vale Royal on the Weaver including the wall that collapsed six years ago.

It was the lower bull nose wall that collapsed, and since then the larger of the two locks have had to be used for boaters, but now funds have been made available to include complete refurbishment, but the final cost is obviously expected to be much higher than first envisaged.  Photograph by Roger Olver.
