It really is a 'sledge hammer to crack a nut' with the proposed banning orders regarding boats and the towpath in Oxford.

Any boaters who has cruised through Oxford on to or from the Thames will know the problem is the junk by the moored boats on the canal, and though there have been many attempts to do something about it, these have always failed.

As to controlling the number of dogs walked on the towpath, I agree with Bill Ridgeway that it will be something of a challenge. Impossible, unless someone is permanently there counting them!  And how many will be allowed?

But will Oxford Council take it even further and restrict the number of people on the towpath?  Now that really would make a mess of CaRT's trillions!
