THE Montgomery Canal was closed yesterday, Wednesday, at Belan Locks above Welshpool 'until further notice'.
Canal & River Trust give vandalism to the lock gates as the cause of the closure, Keith Gudgin tells us.

The damage to the gates, which is not given, will however require 'emergency repairs' the Trust reveals.
