Body in suitcase—man charged

THE police investigation into the body of the woman found in a suitcase at Little Venice where the Paddington Arm meets the Regent's Canal, resulted in three arrests, with a man now being charged.

Thomasz Kocik has been charged with the murder of 23 years old Marta Ligman, whose body was discovered in a suitcase on Sunday, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Initially three men were arrested, but the other two have been bailed after being kept in custody.

Boaters questioned

Her body was found crammed into a suitcase in the waterway at Little Venice, which resulted in the resident boaters in the area being questioned as to their whereabouts over the time the body was calculated to have been in the water together with house to house enquiries.

It is thought the suitcase would have drifted in the flow of the water.
