A HUMAN leg has been discovered in Tetney Lock on the Louth Canal, near to where it meets the Humber Estuary.

The severed leg was seen in the water of the derelict lock by a dog walker, who reported it to the police. The picture shows the Louth Canal near Tetney Lock.

No other body parts

Police divers investigated further, but there were no other body parts, just the one leg, that was recovered. Inspection resulted in the police stating it was from a white male around the age of 20.  There is no indication how it came to be in the lock.

Louth Navigation Trust is in the process of attempting to restore the Louth Canal that runs from the town to the Humber Estuary, through eight locks.
