Man dies after boat leap

IT WAS all good fun for the men, leaping off the wall onto a narrowboat in the Albert Dock in Liverpool, but one missed, and is now dead.

It is understood that four men jumped off the high wall surrounding Albert Dock by the Pump House Inn in the early hours, with three landing safely but Anthony Williams misjudging and striking his head on the boat then tumbling into the water.

Unsuccessful

Two of the men on the boat tried to rescue Anthony, but were unsuccessful, with one having difficulty climbing back on board and having to be taken to hospital with hypothermia.

The emergency services arrived just around 3.30am and Merseyside Police underwater search teams discovered the man's  body and removed it at around 6am.
