THE NAVIGATION REMAINS CLOSED on both the Macclesfield Canal at Bosley Flight and the Peak Forest Canal at Marple Flight due to low water levels.
Lancaster Canal
The Lancaster Canal however is still open though with low water levels with boaters asked to keep to the centre of the waterway.
Rochdale/Calder & Hebble Navigation
The collapsed wall at the point where the Rochdale Canal meets the Calder & Hebble Navigation is still stopping navigation with the trust telling that at present it does not have sufficient information to determine whether it is safe for boats to pass through this section of the navigation.
Leeds & Liverpool Canal
Starts at Newlay Top Lock 13 and ends at Office Lock 2,
While recovery work is progressing well, the closure will need to be extended until Monday to allow water conditions to improve sufficiently, with the closure will be extended down to Office Lock.
Kennet & Avon Canal
Tyle Mill Swing bridge has been repaired and now back in working order.
Engineers attended and fixed the fault that stopped the swing bridge working.
We are told this morning, Friday, that the bridge is not now working.
Leeds & Liverpool Canal
A stoppage cleared on the Leeds & Liverpool with the local team successfully raised the water levels between Lock 65 and Lock 85.
This is the Wigan Flight.
