AFTER THE TWO STOPPAGES ON THE Kennet & Avon Canal for low water, comes another stoppage.

This is for a paddle failure, Keith Gudgin reports.

The Kennet & Avon Canal is really suffering for in addition to low water at Lock 54 last Friday and low water at locks 66 to 69 on Sunday now there is the Caen Hill Flight suffering a paddle failure.

Inoperable

This is at Lock 23 that is currently inoperable due to the failure, with the flight closed.  This will affect the scheduled assisted passage arranged for today, Wednesday 15th July.

On Thursday 16th July, assisted passage will be available up the flight from 8:00 am until midday, should the repair be successful.

LATEST—The low water at locks 66 to 69 is now just effecting lock 67.
