IT IS NOT looking too good for the 'wellbeing' of the waterways lately with more deaths.
River Great Ouse
An 18 years old drowned whilst attempting to swim in Cardington Lock on the River Great Ouse in Bedford, Keith Gudgin reports.
He was pulled from the lock by friends when seen in difficulty, the emergency services called and rushed to hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The teenager had been playing with friends at the time, during the hot weather but was not aware of the danger.
Three more drowned
Earlier this month the body of a woman of 22 was found in the river after a big search. And two women died in the river whilst canoeing.
Not much 'wellbeing' by water for any of them...
