THE failure of the swing bridge at Vale Royal Lock on the Weaver Navigation means that boaters have had no access to services water for over two weeks.
Since then due to a 'fault' with the bridge the local team and engineers have been to the site and are 'currently investigating a method of repair', Keith Gudgin reports.
Remains closed
The navigation remains closed whilst discussions continue regarding the repair of the lock bridge, as this is making the lock unsafe to operate.
We are also told 'our engineers continue to explore all the options that are available to us'.
It was closed to navigation on Tuesday 6th June, and as yet there is no intimation what needs to be done or how long it will take.
