CaRT missed the obvious reason for no licence showing

You recently mentioned Canal & River Trust's link to a survey about CRT licences and folks who don’t display them, writes Dave Irving.

I did the survey, and was interested to find a question asking why I thought folks didn’t display their licences.

Missed a reason

There were lots of reasons to choose from, including difficulty printing it, and so on, but it missed the one I thought was obvious—nowhere did it mention that folks may not have bought a licence!

Until CRT find some credible way to demonstrate their remarkably low estimates of numbers of unlicensed boats, I’m sticking to my feeling that 20% or more of boats I see on the cut aren’t licensed. I’d love to be wrong.
