Basin drained

The uper basin is to be drained and a dam installed at Chinley Road Bridge (61), with all boats removed by the 5th of September at the start of the work, with the lower and wide basin remaining open as these are not affected by the work.

The work being undertaken is construction, taking down and rebuilding the wash wall.  Stating on Monday the 6th of September this will take over three months to complete—the basin not being re-opened until the 17th of December!
