Boating has ceased to be a relaxing pleasure

THAT 50 stoppages/restrictions figure confirms to me that we made the right decision to hang up the windlass and sell our boat last month, writes Martin Cox.

Marilyn and I had become tired of the stress of not knowing if we would be able to complete a trip or even get back to our marina. Boating has ceased to be a relaxing pleasure.

Refund delayed

CaRT had the last laugh by charging us ÂŁ30 'administration fee' for refunding the unexpired licence and then telling us that the refund would be delayed due to 'exceptional number of applications for refund'.

I just wonder what would have happened if, when renewing the licence, I had said that I would delay paying because 'an exceptional number of people were seeking money from me'!
