WRENBURY LIFT BRIDGE 20 on the Llangollen Canal has failed seven times this year.

WrenburyLiftBridgeThe last time it being on Tuesday of this week, Keith Gudgin reports.

This time it was repaired very quickly and reopened the following day Wednesday, yesterday.

Barriers hit

It was the barriers being hit by a vehicle that caused the stoppage, so it seems Canal & River Trust have replacement parts, as this is the cause of many of the stoppages.

But surely this is one bridge that requires a video camera so that the number plates of vehicles causing damage can be seen, and then made to pay.

The need for such cameras was considered last year, and here is a prime example of the need.
