There is always NABO

IN RESPONSE to Joel Langley's complaint of the lack of campaigning by the IWA, there is always NABO, writes Jim Cracken.

The National Association of Boat Owners, to give it its full title, does campaign on behalf of boaters, though alas for some reason or another it does not publicise it.

Joined forces

Only recently it joined forces with the Barge Association, and the  Residential Boat Owners Association in attacking the Environmental Association's new rules and signage of mooring regulations on the Thames.

Even telling the EA that that users had been given to understand that the intent was to achieve effective management of short term moorings and not a modified car parking scheme designed to deter anyone from mooring!

Like Joel, I was once a member of the IWA, but joined the exodus when it decided to join up with Canal & River Trust.
