Avon bridge work finished

THE navigation restrictions through Clopton Bridge at Stratford-upon-Avon have now been lifted with the work completed.

The old gas pipe has been removed and replaced with a new pipe carrying new communications by Openreach, Roger Fox tells us.

Ahead of schedule

Scaffold pontoons were used for the work, causing navigation restrictions, but the work, even though carried out in bad weather and flooding, was completed ahead of schedule.

Avon Navigation Trust, Historic England and Warwickshire County Council have confirmed that the conditions of the works have been met and to a high standard.
