All very pretty—but...

THE Falkirk Tunnel on the Union Canal is very pretty, but the fancy lights cause a problem to boaters.

Every time they need replacing it means the tunnel is closed—for over a week!

Pedestrians too

Alan Tilbury reports that the tunnel will be closed to navigation and pedestrians too, from November Friday 18th to Monday 25th, to allow replacement of the faulty lights.

It is not stated why this will take so long, only that a workboat will be needed in the tunnel to enable the replcement to be undertaken.
