'Better by Water' was dead in the water

CaRT's Well-B TV campaign stopped the day that Whaley Bridge was evacuated amid fears that the Toddbrook dam would collapse with resulting damage to property and loss of life, writes Allan Richards.

Obviously, it would be hypocritical for the Trust to maintain that 'life is better by water' when some 1,500 residents were evacuated from their homes. However, its seem that the little fella is back!

Well B CanalThe old Well-B

The old Well-B TV campaign portrayed Well-B as a limbless figure floating a couple of feet above the ground. Well-B's 'meter' on his chest would show red to indicate that he was depleted. However, on visiting a canal, his 'meter' would become blue indicating that his life was being made better by being by water.

For clarity, it would, perhaps, have been better if Well-B's meter turned green instead of blue. However CaRT's new logo is blue, hence the colour...

It is not known if the public actually understood the 'message'.

Limbs transplant

It would seem that Well-B's time by the water has been of great benefit as the quadriplegic has now managed to grow four limbs and his 'meter' is permanently blue. Quite what children will make of the new Well-B is not known.

However, parents or grandparents may well recognise the new Well-B. Quite obviously he is Mr Blobbies albino brother.
