Date given for Weaver opening

THE repairs to Saltersford Lock on the Weaver are still not complete with the navigation closed.
We were told that the team is working hard to progress and the design team have developed a solution, and have now been given the date of Friday 9th August that repairs will be completed, Keith Gudgin reports.
Nine miles of navigation
This means that anyone decending the Ander Boat Lift on to the Weaver has only niles miles of navigation.
Contacting the Anderton office this morning and asking about lift booking for boats, we learn there are plenty avaiable and that bookings are down on last year, that of course can be expected.
