Just one week later the marina will host a Summer Solstice event which will be held on Saturday, 22nd June from 3pm.

As the light fades the fun begins at Mercia’s second all-new event. The Lantern Company will be dressing the marina with giant Stonehenge like stones along with magpies, druids and solstice characters playing into the night to celebrate the beginning of summer.

Food market

There will be a street food style market that will go on into the night including entertainment, street foods from around the world and a selection of drinks, ranging from craft and world beers to gin, rum and prosecco, with Jackie Swanson, from the Lantern Company, explaining:

“Witness some strange goings on this Summer Solstice, as enormous glowing stones appear beside the lake and giant magpies strut their stuff, shaking their tail feathers at the marina.

“And, don't miss letting your hair down with the magical Midsummer Mystics. If you've never danced the cha cha cha with Druids, or welcomed the longest day of summer with a ritual rumba, today is the day!"

Quality experience

Tony Preston, Sales and Marketing Manager at the marina, tells:

“These two events are all about delivering a different quality experience, enjoyment, and creating memories. This year’s Easter event was hugely popular and sets the trend for interesting and new events by the water at Mercia Marina and of course they are all free entry and free parking.”
