CANNOCK Chase Council’s cabinet has given £10,000 to the Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust.

This is to allow it to commission a water supply study for the supply to the restored canal, Alan Tilbury reports.

Towpath improvements

The council has also agreed on £8,000 to be spent on work at Ravenhill Park at Bereton by the Staffs & Worcs Canal with improvements to the towpath.

Further funds are being provided for car parking spaces adjoining the park, that is lacking in such facilities.

The money has come from contributions made by developers, Section 106 Agreements.
