THE ASHTON CANAL was closed on the 1st October due to the balance beam falling from the lock gate.

IT IS VAZONS DRAWBRIDGE (83) at Keadby on the Stainforth & Keadby Canal that has failed again.

IT IS GOOD NEWS FOR THE Leicester Section of the Grand Union Canal.

THE GRAND UNION CANAL from Calcutt Lock 1 (Top Lock) to Radford Bottom Lock 23 will be closed from the 5th of November.

ALL TO OFTEN WE are told that a team is devising a method of repair.

IT WAS WAY BACK ON THE 4th July that both the Marple and Bosley lock flights were closed.

TO CONSERVE WATER it has been decided to open Marston Doles locks (15 and 16) on the Oxford Canal on Wednesdays and Thursdays only.

THE OBSTRUCTION CAUSING the closure of Ryders Green Bottom Lock 8 has not been removed.

IN ADDITION TO THE KNOWLE LOCKS Customer Service Facility being relocated, so is the Hatton Top Lock on the Grand Union facility being relocated.

AS THE KNOWLE LOCKS Customer Service Facility does not meet the governments Simpler Recycling legislation it will close on the 10th November.
