In the marinas?

MANY people are commenting on the lack of the take-up of Canal & River Trust winter moorings, and perhaps as  suggested, the boaters are in the private marinas.

Replying to David Hymers' comment about the lack of boats on winter moorings James Cookes explains:

"There are a number of marinas that are offering winter moorings for £100 and under per month as they have so many empty berths, especially on the North Oxford."

This would certainly explain the empty linear berths, and possibly show that CaRT's drive against continuous moorers is back-firing, as boaters react by paying private marina operators instead for much better serviced and safer berths.
